Celebratin'

We've had a few things to celebrate the last few days!

1. Biometric Fingerprints. Completed!

What are Biometric Fingerprints?  I've got no idea.  Neither did the lady who did my fingerprints.

All I know is that they're being processed and on their way to U.S. Immigration.

We're hoping to have our I600a approval in the next two to three weeks. After that, our dossier will head to  our agency and we're on the wait list for a referral!

2.  Another Word Wedding!

My sister-in-law Amanda married her perfect match, Ben, this weekend.  They were married in their backyard.  Yes, this is their backyard.

Beautiful setting and sweet wedding.  We love, love, love the new addition to our family! And I mean Ben, not the lakehouse and boat he brings to the table.  Though I'm not complaining about those either.

The handsome Word men

Ever wear the same thing as the bridesmaids in a wedding?  Yeah...me neither...

Hope you found some things to celebrate this weekend too!

A 3:20 Kind of Night

For some reason, I posted about this Thursday, and it disappeared from the blog. Weird.  So let's try this post, round 2....

"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his might power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think"
Ephesians 3:20

That verse, straight out of the New Testament, basically sums up our ONEfamily orientation Wednesday night.

We had 50 folks RSVP on Sunday that they were coming to the orientation.

I prayed for 100.

At 6pm, we were bringing in more chairs because there weren't enough seats.

I had to pretend my allergies were acting up, because we all know how I am about crying.

120 folks spent their Wednesday night learning more about how they can care for the orphan.

More than we could ask or imagine.

We shared the urgent need for adoption, for foster care, and for orphan care.

Everyone listened wide-eyed.

And most likely walked out with information overload.

That didn't matter for some of the people there.

Because they already know their call.  Coming to the orientation just confirmed it.

They're ready.

Others aren't sure yet.

But they heard the need.

They're praying about what's next.

And if there's one thing I know about the people in our church- they don't sit still for long.

For His Glory

ONEfamily

We're launching our ONEfamily ministry this coming week!

If you're in the Montgomery area, we'd love to have you join us Wednesday, May 11th at Frazer UMC to learn more about adoption, orphan, and foster care.

If you're not in the area, take a peek at this short video of John and Sonia Martin, one of our Frazer families.  They share their story deciding to adopt and then the journey of bringing home two boys from China this past January.

*Isn't our logo awesome? Many thanks to Courtnie, our very pregnant, due-in-three-weeks, graphic designer at church.  She had a ton of things to get done before maternity leave, but made time to create the logo for us! She rocks. *
